I love jewelry just as much as the next gal, but not at the expense of the earth and others. So I took the extra steps to ensure my production practices align with my ethos. The result? Beautiful and meaningful jewelry for the discerning woman who wants to look good and feel good.

Recycled Metal

All Westland Jewelry is cast in 100% recycled metal, which comes from post consumer products, such as already existing jewelry, electronics, and hardware. Recycled metal is identical in quality to newly mined metals, but without the environmental destruction and human rights violations caused by the metal mining industry.

Lab Grown or Fair-Trade Gemstones

 Westland Jewelry uses only lab grown or fair-trade diamonds and gemstones.

  • Lab grown diamonds are created using advanced technology that mimics the natural method of diamond formation. They are indistinguishable from earth mined diamonds and are equal in strength, material, and sparkle.   • Our fair-trade gem stones come from mines that adhere to environmental and social standards, such as paying fair wages and providing safe and comfortable working conditions. 

Socially Responsible Production

I create the original wax model of each piece in my home-studio before it is sent to a small family owned and operated foundry in Los Angeles where they are cast into recycled precious metals. Because manufacturing happens locally, I can be involved in every step of the process from casting to finishing to stone setting. In this unfortunate age of fast fashion where brands are pumping out products quickly and cheaply, it is often the makers who suffer. Transparency in production is the first step toward increasing awareness of common production practices and setting a good example to others in the industry.

Vegan

Westland is proudly PETA-certified. Being a Vegan influences my fashion choices, including the jewelry I wear and make. As a Vegan brand, I don't use animals or animal-derived products in any way, including, but not limited to, leather, animal hair, feathers, bone, silk, wool, pearl, shell, or coral.
