Femme X Necklace

The Femme X Necklace is modeled after an X Chromosome and is a nod to the sacred feminine as two X chromosomes indicate the female sex. This pendant is first created in wax, then cast in recycled 14k yellow gold using the lost wax method and finished with three diamonds. The pendant is strung on a 16 inch 14k gold chain that passes through holes on both sides of the pendant and across the bottom in a unique way.

My process is methodical and meditative, allowing me to turn inward and connect with a thought or feeling which then manifests as a piece of jewelry. When creating this necklace, I wanted a reminder that the beauty of my soul shines through when I am being myself. I was inspired by chromosomes, which carry characteristics and qualities that we are uniquely born with. This can be especially meaningful to someone who often compares themselves to others or struggles with the all too familiar feeling that they are not enough. This has been personally helpful too many times to count since self-love is a life-long practice. As with all my jewelry, this necklace can hold different and unique meaning depending on what the wearer is experiencing in her own life. What does it mean for you?
