Soft Shield Ring

This soft shape shield ring is first created in wax, then cast in recycled 14k yellow gold using the lost wax method. This ring is stackable or beautiful on its own.

My process is methodical and meditative, allowing me to turn inward and connect with a thought or feeling which then manifests as a piece of jewelry. When creating this ring, I wanted a reminder to have compassion for myself (by protecting myself from my own negative thoughts). This can be especially meaningful to someone whose inner voice can be harsh. We all know the saying that we are our own worst critic. When I look down at this ring, I am reminded to treat myself as I would a best friend - gentle, kind, and with patience. This has been personally helpful too many times to count since self-love is a life-long practice. As with all my jewelry, this ring can hold different and unique meaning depending on what the wearer is experiencing in her own life. What does it mean for you?
